Restorations are priceless

We immortalize our lives by creating photographs.  Up until recently, we didn't realize that the photo albums (or shoeboxes) that we've been keeping our pictures in were fading the colors and turning our precious photographs yellow.

If you have photographs you'd like to have restored (or perhaps you'd just like to be able to make additional copies for your sister who would give her left arm to have the photo of your father at the Pig Kissing Contest at the County Fair), please call me at 423.202.6316 or e-mail me at alicia@alicianeely.com.

   Tips for keeping your memories safe - it's easier to protect than replace!

  • Keep your photos in an acid free album (use acid free background papers
    and adhesives in scrapbook-type albums);
  • Before you delete your digital pictures from your camera, make sure you
    make a back-up copy of them on your computer or a CD.  Most photo-
    processing labs offer the option of purchasing a Photo CD if you can't do it
    at home.
  • If you keep all of your digital pictures saved on your computer, you should
    (at least once a year) back all of them up onto a CD.  Make sure to label
    your CDs so you'll know what year the photos were taken.
  • Keep your negatives or Photo CDs in a fireproof/waterproof safe (for
    example a Sentry Safe) OR keep an extra copy of your Photo CDs at
    another family member's house.  If your home is destroyed, your
    photographs cannot be replaced unless you have negatives or digital
    copies stored somewhere safe.
